The Soft Check-In: An Upcoming Wellness Gathering on June 20, 2026

There are moments when life asks us to keep moving, keep showing up, keep carrying responsibilities, emotions, expectations, and experiences that often go unseen. For many women, especially women of color, the pressure to remain strong can become so familiar that rest begins to feel unfamiliar. The Soft Check-In was created as a response to that quiet weight.

Hosted by Future Wellness Foundation, The Soft Check-In is an intimate in-person wellness gathering designed for BIPOC woman, femme and non binary caregivers 18+. This event offers a calm, supportive environment where participants are invited to slow down, breathe deeply, reflect honestly, and reconnect with themselves in community.

This is not a performance space. It is not a place where anyone is expected to have the perfect words, the right answers, or a polished version of their healing journey. The Soft Check-In is simply a space to arrive as you are.

A Wellness Gathering Designed with Intention

The Soft Check-In was created for women who may be carrying stress, transition, emotional fatigue, grief, pressure, or the everyday heaviness that comes with navigating life, work, relationships, family, and identity. It is a gathering rooted in softness, presence, and emotional safety.

Guests will be welcomed into a warm, living-room-style environment with soft lighting, quiet music, tea, and space to settle in. From the moment participants arrive, the experience is designed to feel gentle and grounding.

Rather than rushing into conversation or activity, attendees will be invited to pause, breathe, and notice how they are entering the room. This simple act of checking in with oneself is at the heart of the event.

What to Expect at The Soft Check-In

The gathering will include a structured but gentle flow of wellness-centered activities, including:

  • Breathwork to support grounding and nervous system regulation

  • Guided journaling for personal reflection

  • Optional sharing circles for those who feel called to speak

  • Tea and quiet moments of connection

  • A supportive environment for emotional release and reconnection

Every part of the experience is optional and consent-based. Participants are not required to share, explain, or process anything out loud. The goal is not to fix, solve, or perform healing. The goal is to create space for each person to feel seen, supported, and allowed to simply be.

Why This Space Matters

Wellness is often talked about in terms of routines, habits, and self-care practices. But true wellness also requires community, safety, and spaces where people can be honest about what they are carrying.

For BIPOC women, wellness conversations can be especially layered. Many are navigating cultural expectations, professional pressure, caregiving responsibilities, personal healing, and the ongoing need to be resilient in spaces that may not always make room for vulnerability.

The Soft Check-In recognizes that healing does not always begin with a big breakthrough. Sometimes, it begins with a quiet room, a warm cup of tea, a deep breath, and the reminder that you do not have to carry everything alone.

A Space to Be Present, Not Perfect

One of the core intentions behind The Soft Check-In is to remove pressure. Participants do not need to come prepared with a story. They do not need to know exactly what they feel. They do not need to speak if they prefer to listen. They do not need to be “okay” to attend.

This gathering is built around the idea that presence is enough.

Through breathwork, journaling, and optional reflection, guests will have the opportunity to release what feels heavy, reconnect with their inner voice, and experience community in a way that feels soft, respectful, and supportive.
